Faith in the Earth: Conversations with trees and inner landscapes

48 selected poems through the year, with illustrations of drawings by Vincent van Gogh

Helmut Raimund, an Austrian, lives in Aberdeen, Scotland.

In the rhythm and sound of these poems, I encounter myself within the beings of streams, flowers, landscapes and trees. They speak with tongues transcending human language. They are present in imaginations, inspiring me to search for my own Spirit Self, showing me what’s mine in their memories, traversing times.

Not only do we share cosmic memory and conscience; In nature and in human beings a common heart is beating, stirred by the love of the universe, embodied in the earth and her creatures, evoking the spirit core in every human being. Nature is a mirror and caretaker for the human soul, reminding us, that our deeds and thoughts can deplete or enhance its life forces. Love is the bread of the earth.

Earth, seed of cosmic light,

Fallen into gravity,

I followed you

That we arise.
